Shomrim Society Medicycle Campaign

The Shomrim Society is proud to roll out our campaign to donate a Medicycle to Magen David Adom. MDA is Israel's national organization responsible for emergency pre – hospital medical care and blood services. MDA serves over half a million sick or injured people per year. MDA responds to terror attacks, road accidents, and illnesses and injuries in homes, workplaces and public spaces.

MDA crews and vehicles first served the people of Israel in 1918. Our goal is to add a Medicycle to MDA's fleet during their centennial year. The use of motorcycles in emergency medical care is a technique that has stood the test of time.

Emergency care - whether it's basic first aid or the most advanced techniques - is most effective when professionals and their equipment reach the patient quickly. Medicycles allow MDA staff, many of whom are volunteers, to travel swiftly from their stations, their jobs, or their homes to the scene of an emergency. On Medicycles, these dedicated public servants can overcome the challenges posed by rough terrain, narrow paths and urban congestion to start lifesaving treatment in a fraction of the time that would be needed by a crew traveling in a traditional ambulance.

MDA's motto is "Tamid Rishonim - Always First." Please join us in supporting MDA's efforts to deliver the best care available as quickly as possible. Donate online, or send your check, payable to American Friends of Magen David Adom to: Shomrim Society, c/o Stuart Portner, 550H Grand Street, Apartment 12B, New York, NY 10002.
