To our beloved family and friends,
We are reaching out to you today with heavy hearts and in hopes that you will join us in supporting Magen David Adom’s mission to save lives in Israel during this desperate time of need.
Magen David Adom is Israel’s ambulance, blood-services, and disaster-relief organization, serving as emergency medical first responders. Magen David Adom is the only organization mandated by the Israeli government to serve in this role, but because it is not a government agency it relies on people like all of us for funding.
You may know, Magen David Adom has played a significant role in our family as our grandmother, Jacqueline Goldman, has dedicated over 60 years to making the organization become what it is today. Inspired to follow in her footsteps, we have joined the board of the American Friends of Magen David Adom NextGen community in San Francisco.
As more than 2,300 rockets have been fired at Israel in the past 3 weeks, Magen David Adom has been working to ensure all injured soldiers and civilians receive immediate care. Being half way across the world, it is easy for us to feel helpless but through dedicating our time and backing Magen David Adom’s efforts we are able to stand united with Israel and help to save lives.
We have stared a fund called San Francisco in Action for Israel because we know together we can make a difference. Our goal is to raise $100,000 to send an ambulance to Israel. Every year, between 100 and 200 of Magen David Adom’s ambulances need to be replaced and in this time of war that number will increase. Providing an additional ambulance to the fleet will allow more paramedics to quickly arrive where they are needed and provide proper care.
