Dear Friends and Family,
As many of you know, I will become a Bat Mitzvah in Israel on July 5, 2018. For my mitzvah project, I wanted to find something that really resonated with me -- a cause i feel strongly about, that I could study in detail and choose to help in the way I wanted. I have chosen to support Magen David Adom (MDA) and donate a Red Bag of Courage.
What is Magen David Adom (MDA)? Magen David Adom is Israel’s national ambulance, blood-services, and disaster-relief organization, serving as emergency medical first-responders for the state’s 8.6 million people. MDA does not discriminate - it serves all of Israel's population regardless of race or religion. MDA is the only organization mandated by the Israeli government to serve in this role, but it’s not a government agency, so it relies on people for funding. As Israel’s primary emergency medical service, MDA receives nearly five million emergency calls a year and transports more than 700,000 patients to hospitals. These are the people who devote their entire life to saving lives.
What is The Red Bag of Courage? The Red Bag of Courage is a paramedic bag fully equipped with the bandages, oxygen masks, syringes, medical equipment, and medicine needed to save a life.
I personally have a lot of extended family and friends that have made aliyah and live in Israel. By supporting this cause, I feel like I am taking part to make sure they are cared for should they ever need emergency services.

Please consider donating to this cause on behalf of my Bat Mitzvah. Together we can save a life!
