My name is Alexa Schwartz and I am in 7th grade at Horace Mann School. I am becoming a Bat Mitzvah on May 5, 2018.
I chose AFMDA as my Bat Mitzvah project because both of my parents are doctors who work hard every day to save lives. Out of respect to them I wanted to work for a cause that also saves lives daily. Magen David Adom exemplifies this goal and relates to my Bat Mitzvah parashat Emor. It tells us to help those in need by leaving the crops on the corners of the field. Since we do not have a farm, we are raising funds to assist Israelis in need of emergency help.
